Matthew has a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Alberta. He has applied different neuroimaging techniques to improve the diagnosis and detection of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), such as texture analysis, Z-score mapping, diffusion tensor imaging, constrained spherical deconvolution, and structural connectome analysis. Matthew will join the ALSNIRU lab as a master's student in the fall. In his M.Sc, Matthew aims to leverage the power of machine learning and a diverse array of neuroimaging-based metrics to understand the pathophysiology of ALS better. Matthew is also a huge movie buff outside of university and enjoys distance running.
